SUNDAY WORSHIP

Traditional Services

8:30am & 11:00am*
Newnan First UMC Sanctuary

Worship is committing our whole heart, soul, mind, and strength to the pursuit of knowing God and making Him known. It means living faithfully to the will of God for our lives all day, every day. On Sundays, we participate in a form of worship by coming together as one body, lifting our praises, thanks, and lives to God.

Just as Jesus Christ welcomed everyone, we welcome you to Newnan First United Methodist Church! Prayer, scripture, hymns, and a Spirit-filled sermon all lead participants into an attitude of expectation to hear what God has to say to and through us. Weekly recitations of the Lord's Prayer and the Apostle's Creed remind us what we believe and whom we seek to know as believers.

While our services are traditional, we hope you will join us in whatever way you feel comfortable. Many attend worship in "business casual" attire, while others dress in jeans. It is good to worship God together.

SUNDAY SCHOOL
9:45am

These are our church's small groups, and there are classes for children, youth, and adults.

Most are open for drop-in visitors! Click below to learn about what each class offers, or contact Melody Webb.

We also periodically have special Sunday Bible Studies, open to any and all. Click the button below to learn about current studies.

COMMUNION
1st Sunday of the Month

As early as the Emmaus experience on the day of Resurrection, Christians recognize the presence of Jesus Christ in the breaking of bread, as recorded in Luke 24:13-25.

When followers of Christ gathered in Jesus' name, the breaking of bread and sharing of the cup was a means of remembering his life, death, and resurrection and of encountering the living Christ.

At Newnan First UMC, all are welcome to partake in the Lord's Supper.

CHILDREN'S CHURCH
11:00am

While children are always welcome at "Big Church", we also have a special time of worship prepared for ages 4-2nd grade on non-communion Sundays. During this time they will have an opportunity to learn even more about the church and God in a setting that encourages activity and curiosity.

Parents can pick children up on Children's Wing Room 211 afterward.

INFANTS & TODDLERS
Nursery

Our nursery is open 8:25am-12:15pm in the bottom floor of the Parish Hall so you can attend Sunday School and the worship service of your choice. Infants through 3-year-olds are welcome.

Please set up a KidCheck account before attending so sign-in is quick.

Soothing Room

Our Soothing Room (pictured below) for parents of newborns can be found on the 2nd floor, just off the Sanctuary Balcony.

The room includes comfortable chairs for parents, a changing table with diaper genie, a small crib, and a bounce chair. There's also a television that will stream the service so parents won't miss a minute.

Welcome one another, therefore, just as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.
