UTH is our Sunday Youth Group! We begin the evening with food ($5) and finish out with worship music from our student band “Bound” and a message from one of the pastors, counselors or students. It’s a worship service geared and crafted specifically for students. The illustrations, the environment, the feel, the music… they’re all put in place to remind students that they’re important enough to God to be focused on and planned for.
Don’t get us wrong, the world needs students to be passionate followers of Jesus Christ, so there’s no dumbing things down and we’re not afraid to talk about the hard stuff. It’s our hope that our students will enjoy their time with God and their friends and leave church ready to be God’s ambassadors in their homes, schools and community.

BELONG
We want to do our best to serve all teenagers in our church and community by providing a place where all feel welcome and are given an opportunity to be involved in a family community of Jesus followers
BELIEVE
Our message is centered on Jesus Christ. We encourage and support a life-changing relationship with Jesus as Savior. We want every student to know Jesus, and to know that Jesus believes in them. God is for us!
BECOME
Our mission is to continue the journey of faith together and grow in our relationship with Christ - learning to be the disciples God has created us to be. We will experience a fulfilled life and share life with others.
Opportunities To Get Involved
There are many opportunities for youth to be involved at Newnan First UMC whether they're volunteering, leading their peers, or learning more about becoming a member.
CONFIRMATION
Confirmation refers to the decision a person makes to respond to God's grace with intentional commitment, publicly reaffirming his or her baptismal vows before the congregation.
Most confirmands are youth between the ages of eleven and fourteen (around 6th grade), who have been nurtured in the church since their baptism as an infant or young child (though previous membership is not a requirement).
STUDENT LEADERSHIP
Student Leadership Team (SLT) is a group of students who dedicate themselves to serve their youth group both in front and behind the scenes. The team meets with Paul once a month to discuss the future programming and events alongside developing their own leadership skills. Our hope is to have at least one member from each grade in Student Leadership to help Paul and the Shepherds (small group leaders) be most effective in ministry. Prayerfully consider participating in this servant role in our youth group.
